With all the things to do in Marrakech, I bet you didn’t expect that golf would be on your list. In my humble opinion, golf courses in Marrakech are pretty decent.

So if you’re looking for something different to do during your stay that doesn’t involve the beach or a cultural experience, go golfing!

Golf Courses In Marrakech

Admittedly, there aren’t many golf courses to choose from. Today I’ve gathered up and reviewed all the best ones I can find in Marrakech. Some of these are world class golf courses and the weather is great. I guess you can go ahead and get your clubs ready! 

1. Royal Golf Marrakech

Established almost a century ago, this prestigious golf destination is renowned for stunning views and much more. The course on Royal Golf Marrakech has wide fairways and large greens, and it was also recently renovated to enhance playability.

The historic “Old Course” now has a “New Course” added, totalling a 27-hole championship layout. There’s a clubhouse with a refined atmosphere and the facilities on site are excellent. It’s a mere 15 km from the center of Marrakesh, just a short drive away. 

2. Fairmont Royal Palm Golf & Country Club

When looking for Marrakesh country club rentals, everyone I know suggests Fairmont Royal. The course was designed by a renowned architect (Cabell B. Robinson). It’s a challenging layout that spans 18 holes, with natural water hazards. Even better, there are strategically placed bunkers on the course. 

I thoroughly enjoyed playing the meticulously maintained course. The lush fairways and fast greens made for an exceptional game. 

3. Assoufid Golf Club

This fairly new golf club (2014) is an 18-hole championship course set against the stunning backdrop of Atlas mountain. I really got the feeling that the layout blends into the surrounding landscape. 

The course is praised for its excellent condition, with fast greens and well-maintained fairways that enhance the overall playing experience.

There are many undulating fairways, water hazards, and plenty of obstacles that add challenge to the game. I got the chance to visit the clubhouse as well, which provides a wide range of high-class amenities. 

4. Golf Club Rotana Palmeraie

I love the Palmeraie area. So when I got invited to play golf at a luxurious resort in Palmeraie, I didn’t hesitate. Designed to cater to golfers of all levels, this 18-hole layout was a dream.

Although the site is pretty much flat, the strategically weaving fairways add a difficulty. I will say that there aren’t many bunkers here, but that makes the game slightly easier. 

The resort also features other luxury facilities such as an indoor swimming pool and spa services. I recommend this club for a weekend getaway with your golf pals. 

5. Samanah Golf Club By Nicklaus Official

If you’re even remotely interested in golf, then you’ve heard of Jack Nicklaus. Well, he designed this premier golfing destination just outside Marrakech. The 18-hole championship course offers stunning views of the Atlas Mountains and a challenging layout. 

I love that Samanah’s layout incorporates the natural terrain. It’ll really test your skills. The club’s facilities are top-notch, including a luxurious clubhouse that offers fine dining options and a well-stocked pro shop.

6. Al Maaden Golf Resort

Just outside the busy center of Marraech, AlMadden Golf Resort is an 18-hole (72 course) resort. The course features a mix of Scottish links-style design and lush Moroccan landscapes, making it a unique golfing destination.

7. Amelkis Golf Club

In my search for something different, I found Amelkis Golf Club. It’s a 27-hole course with a unique layout. I found that the course was challenging thanks to the many water features and strategic bunkers. 

The layout is designed to test your skills, because you’ll need precision to play here. The breathtaking views and well-maintained grounds softened the blow of how badly I was playing. The club also offers excellent practice facilities, including a driving range and short game area.

8. PalmGolf Marrakech Ourika

PalmGolf is a stunning grounds and one of the top rated golf courses in Marrakech. It’s only half an hour away, and offers a unique golfing experience. The course stretches over 7,300 yards and features a par of 72.

The signature square greens are the standout feature of this golf course. I found that while they are scorable, they added a serious challenge to the game. The course is well-maintained, with good fairways and fast-running greens that enhance playability.

9. Noria Golf Club

⌚Hours: 7:30 AM–7 PM (Closes at 10.30PM on Saturdays and 9PM on Sundays)

The rectangular greens and stunning views of Noria Golf Club made for a great golf game. The course is quite challenging, particularly on the back nine. 

Friendly staff and good facilities were much appreciated and I think this is a must-visit for golfers in Marrakech. 

10. The Montgomerie Marrakech

Designed by Colin Montgomerie, this 18-hole championship course was a lot of fun. Again, I was mesmerized by the breathtaking mountain views and enjoyed the luxurious clubhouse. The course combines wide fairways and strategic bunkering, catering to golfers of all skill levels.

11. Concept Parcours Golf Maroc

Concept Parcours Golf Maroc is a 9-hole facility designed for golfers of all abilities, focusing on skill development in a relaxed atmosphere. The small course integrates natural elements and provides excellent practice areas. 

I appreciated the friendly staff and welcoming environment. It’s a great place for a casual golf game. 

12. Golf Tour Academie

This is a premier training facility dedicated to improving golfers’ skills. Golf Tour Academie offers state-of-the-art tech and experienced instructors, so this is where you go up your game. You can get personalized coaching programs and enjoy the extensive practice facilities to refine your skills. 

13. Atlas Golf Marrakech

While most Marrakech golf courses are set against the Atlas Mountains, I really loved the stunning views of this 18-hole course. The well-maintained layout is challenging but enjoyable. I’d say it’s suitable for golfers of all skill-levels. 

The modern clubhouse provides dining options and practice facilities, making it a top choice for visitors to the region.

14. Argan Golf Resort

Argan Golf Resort boasts a beautiful 18-hole championship course with a par of 72, designed to blend with the natural landscape. The course features lush fairways and strategic bunkering, providing a challenging round. The luxurious clubhouse and excellent amenities enhance my experience.

Conclusion

Marrakech might be a desert but it offers great golf courses. Regardless of your skill level, there is a suitable layout for you and top-notch facilities to go with that.
